Over the past six weeks of “Mission Possible” God has reaffirmed how we as a church are called to participate in God’s great work of transforming lives, neighborhoods & communities. In Phase 2 of Mission Possible, you are invited “up the mountain” to seek God’s direction for how He is calling you to participate in this great work. This process of discernment will involve several components.

Small Groups: The next round of small groups will focus on actually seeking God for His call upon our lives. The first two sessions will focus on the dynamics of receiving guidance. A third (and fourth, if necessary) will offer an opportunity to share what you have discerned with your group.

Listening in Christ Retreats: Two one-day retreats will be held at Calvary Church. They offer a time away from the busyness of life to allow us to listen for the direction of the Holy Spirit. This guided time of listening prayer will be facilitated by Pastor Jim Baumberger and Kit McDermott.

Focus Groups: Focus Groups will be made up of people who sense a call to a particular area of ministry or concern. These groups will seek to prayerfully discern how God may be leading us in a given ministry or mission. The particular groups to be offered will be announced near the end of July.

Mission Possible Leadership Team: The session has appointed a Leadership Team to guide the congregation through the next steps of the process. Their call is to facilitate the Phase 2 process and then gather and assimilate the guidance received by groups and individuals. Following this, they will look at the data and prayerfully seek to discern how God is leading us. The Leadership Team consists of: Pastor Jim Baumberger (Team Leader), Daryl Harmon, Gary Hess, Leslie Horner, Katy Lee, Debbie Lenn, Sandy Wezowicz.
