You don't have to go through it alone.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they've ever faced. It's a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you've never faced before.

Each DivorceCare session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery and real-life case studies, followed by time for group discussion. Topics will include dealing with anger, depression, financial hardship and more.

Anyone who is contemplating, experiencing or recovering from a divorce is welcome. There is no cost to attend.

Alpha

Alpha is coming!

 Jesus prayed for His disciples,  “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”  (John 17:13)

Get ready for a fresh new look of Alpha!!!

 Alpha’s mission for 2011 is to have a network of churches joining together across denominations to reach a nation for Christ. In keeping with that goal and vision, Calvary Presbyterian Church and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will come together as one. We have heard God’s call, and are jointly hosting the Alpha Course this fall. We are excited about the strength and gifts that we bring from each church family.

Calvary will host the Celebration Dinner on Thursday, September 8th at 6:15pm.

Financial Peace University

COME AND SET YOUR FINANCIAL HOUSE IN ORDER

Dave Ramsay’s “Financial Peace University” will be offered again here at Calvary this fall. It is a tool that equips people with a biblically-based accountability class to manage their financial resources. Mr. Ramsay helps ordinary people to understand the forces behind their financial distress and how to set things right—financially, emotionally and spiritually.

The Mission statement of “Financial Peace University” is: “To empower and give HOPE to everyone from financially secure to the financially distressed.”

The first of 13 classes will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, and the last will be on December 7, 2011. All classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and will be open to the public as well.

On Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 7:00pm, there will be a preview and enrollment session. The preview will consist of a video presentation, followed by a question and answer and enrollment period. Come and find out if this is for you. Personal finance is 80% behavior and 20% head knowledge.
