Meet Our Staff

Meet the team that keeps Calvary running smoothly to the glory of God!

		Steve Thayer – Pastor Pastor Steve Thayer has served Calvary Church since November of 1996. He is responsible for preaching and teaching the Word of God, providing vision for the life of the church, and encouraging and supporting staff and leaders in ministry. Pastor Thayer is a graduate of Alma College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has done further academic work at Boston University and Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Prior to coming to Calvary Church, Pastor Steve served congregations in Herrin, IL, Craftsbury, VT and Saginaw, MI. Pastor Steve and wife Melissa have three grown children and two exceptionally cute grandsons.
		Joan Lawson – Director of Discipleship Meet Joan Lawson, Calvary’s Director of Discipleship since 1999. Her love for Christ combine with her enthusiastic desire to see others grow in their walk with the Lord, ensuring a climate where relationships flourish and faith deepens. She overflows with the joy of the Lord as she oversees the Ministry of Welcome, People Enjoying People, Adult Sunday School, Women’s Ministries, Alpha, and numerous outreaches into the community.
		Lori Bourret – Music Director and Organist Lori Bourret comes to Calvary from previous positions as a substitute organist, pianist and choir director for various churches. Previously, she was the Music Director for the Poquonock Community Church, Congregational for many years. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the Hartt School of Music. Lori is a member of the American Guild of Organists and presently is a member-at-large for the Springfield chapter, and has served in that capacity and on the professional concerns committee for the Hartford chapter. She sings with the City Singers of Hartford, volunteers at the Bushnell, and enjoys outdoor activities including gardening, golfing, bicycling and kayaking. Lori and her husband Bob live in Enfield. Lori encourages you to share your musical talents at church, singing or playing an instrument!
		Katy Lee – Children’s Ministry Coordinator Kathy Lee is a life long member of the town of Enfield, and has been attending Calvary Presbyterian Church for over 10 years. She was originally drawn to Calvary because of its vision to be a presence in the Enfield community and its desire to reach out to our townspeople and meet them where they are. Katy has a background in education and parenting three children has prepared her for the position as Calvary’s Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Her love of books and sharing knowledge has lead her to overseeing our church library. Sunday School and Calvary Kids’ Club are her main ministries, but her efforts extend to providing safe and nurturing nursery care to our youngest members, as well.
		Sheila Beaudry – Youth Ministry Coordinator Sheila Beaudry has been attending Calvary since 1996. During that time she has been a volunteer in all aspects of children’s ministry and has served on the board of Deacons. Several years ago God gave Sheila an overwhelming passion to help teens grow closer to Him. Today Sheila and the Youth Ministry Leaders are nurturing youth from Enfield and all surrounding towns in worship, discipleship, evangelism, ministry, and fellowship. She is full of energy. loves winter sports, dirt biking, roosters (thinks everyone should owns chickens), and lives life to the fullest! She was raised in Enfield, is married to Dan Beaudry, and has a teenage daughter and grammar-school aged son.
		Rick Wezowicz – Church Administrator Rick has been our church administrator since May of 2005. He has a Batchelor’s Degree in Sociology from American International College in Springfield, Mass. Prior to beginning work here, Rick worked as a Warden for the Connecticut Department of Correction and later as an administrator for private security companies. He is an Elder and has served as a Deacon during his ten years as a member at Calvary. Rick is married to Sandy Wezowicz and has a son and six grandchildren.
		Evans Farrell -Building and Grounds Superintendent Evans Farrell has been attending Calvary Church for over 30 years. During that time he has served on the Session, Board of Deacons and several other committees. He started working at Calvary in 2005 after retiring from the airline industry with almost 38 years of experience. Evans and his wife Penny been married over 40 years and have 2 grown children and 2 grandsons. It is a blessing to be able to help take care of God’s house.
